Data use and choices

Privacy notice

Version 2026-07-15 · reviewed 15 July 2026

This notice explains which personal data may be processed when you browse myForager, change privacy preferences, join the newsletter, or open an external map. The site does not currently provide accounts, saved profiles, precise-location features, or AI-based personalisation.

1. Who is responsible

myForager determines how the application-level processing described here is configured. Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent to privacy@myforager.app.

The legal name and postal address of the controller are release-gate details that the service owner must add before production publication.

2. Browsing and site delivery

When your browser requests a page or API route, the deployment platform may process an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, and security diagnostics to deliver and protect the service. The exact hosting provider and log-retention period depend on the production deployment and must be confirmed by the owner.

Locale routing may read the URL and the browser’s Accept-Language header to serve English or Polish content. The application does not set a locale cookie.

3. Privacy preferences

The site stores your analytics and advertising choices, a policy version, and a timestamp in first-party browser local storage. These records stay in your browser and are used to remember your selection.

You can reopen Cookie preferences from the footer or clear this site’s browser storage. Optional providers remain disabled until you opt in.

4. Optional analytics and advertising

If you enable analytics, Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights may receive usage and performance telemetry under Vercel’s terms. Their components are not rendered before consent and are removed after consent is withdrawn.

Google AdSense can load only when advertising consent is enabled, a publisher identifier is configured, and an ad slot is present. Google may then process ad-request data and provider-defined identifiers under its own terms. Advertising must remain disabled until its regional consent behavior, retention, and transfer terms are approved.

The repository contains inactive environment fields for Google Analytics and Ahrefs, but the current application does not load either service.

5. Newsletter requests

If you submit the newsletter form, the application validates your email address, applies a short-lived in-memory abuse limit derived from request information, and sends the email to the HTTPS subscription provider configured by the owner. The application code does not intentionally log the submitted address.

If no provider is configured, the form reports that subscriptions are unavailable. The provider’s identity, processing region, double-opt-in process, suppression-list handling, and retention period must be confirmed before subscriptions are enabled. You may unsubscribe using the link supplied in a newsletter or contact privacy@myforager.app.

7. Purposes, legal bases, and retention

Site delivery, security, and abuse prevention are necessary to provide the requested service and protect it. Optional analytics and advertising are controlled by consent. A newsletter request is processed to act on the subscription you submit and to send the communications you requested.

Consent records remain in your browser until you change them, clear site storage, or a policy-version change replaces them. The newsletter rate-limit record lasts for a short operational window and also disappears when the server process resets. Provider and hosting retention periods are not set by this repository and must be documented before release.

The precise legal bases and any international-transfer safeguards depend on the confirmed controller, deployment, and provider contracts; those items require formal legal review.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, to withdraw consent, to receive portable data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Send a request to privacy@myforager.app. We may need enough information to identify the relevant subscription and verify the requester without collecting unnecessary data.

9. Changes and contact

We will update the version date when this notice or the underlying data flows change. Material new providers or purposes should be added to the notice and consent controls before they are enabled.

For questions, consent concerns, or rights requests, email privacy@myforager.app.

For the exact browser-storage keys and current optional provider controls, read the cookie and browser-storage policy.
